These job training programmes are predominately delivered to TURSA’s participants to assist them to develop their employability skills and to transition into sustainable employment outcomes.
Funding is available through State and Australian Governments as well as Commercial Training.
TURSA is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and offers nationally accredited courses and units within the Australian Qualifications Framework. Successful completion of accredited courses entitles a trainee to a Certificate level qualification or Statement of Attainment that can be counted towards future study in the same field. Clients who successfully complete non-accredited training are usually entitled to a Tursa Employment & Training Statement of Achievement.
If you wish to enrol in TURSA Training or would like more information about our job training services, the TURSA Trainee Information Handbook provides key points you need to know, including your rights to privacy, consumer protection, support and assistance when undertaking training and/or assessment, fee information, making a complaint or to appeal an assessment decision, recognition of prior learning and/or credit transfer (of previous learning and experience into current training where applicable).
Australian Apprenticeships (Traineeships & Apprenticeships) are the best way to combine training and employment – successful completion results in a nationally recognised qualification.
Australian Apprenticeships are available to anyone of working age and do not require any entry qualifications. Depending on the industry, some training packages do have pre-requisites. You can be an eligible school-leaver, entering the workforce for the first time, re-entering the workforce, existing worker or simply wishing to change careers.

TURSA has been contracted by the NSW Government as a leading employment training organisation to deliver full and partial qualifications. These can be funded through the Smart and Skilled Programme. Smart and Skilled funding is designed to help eligible people develop the skills needed to gain employment and build/advance their career.
Important Note: For eligible participants, this training is subsidised by the NSW Government. You can either refer to Smart and Skilled for information or discuss your options with TURSA staff. To determine the fee amount you may be required to pay (which may be full, concession or exempt), refer to the Smart and Skilled Fee Administration Policy.
Australian Apprenticeship Support Networks provide consultation with employers to select RTOs to deliver the accredited training for traineeships. The individual circumstances of the employer and trainee are taken into consideration before an RTO is nominated. TURSA offers flexible work-based options to suit those employers/trainees who prefer their traineeship be completed in a more practical on-the-job mode. Traineeship qualifications are packaged and customised to each specific trainee/employment environment depending on their job description and duties.
TURSA RTO works with Industry and TURSA employment services to package & deliver skill sets or full qualifications for participants/existing workers to suit labour market needs. Wherever possible, work placements are organised to support training delivery.
TURSA is able to deliver Smart and Skilled subsidised training in the below industries in NSW – refer to TURSA Scope of Registration for qualification details.

Everyone who undertakes nationally recognised training must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) so they can enrol and have their qualification recorded on a secure national register. This is beneficial so an individual can track their qualifications, and can readily print off information for employers when applying for a job.
Go to Unique Student Identifier (USI) to create your individual USI. It is an easy 5-step process and there is help on the website.
