About our Disability Employment Services in Caloundra

Disability Employment Services (DES) is a program designed to help people find and keep long-term employment. Designed to help those living with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions, its goal is to bridge the gap and provide the necessary support, guidance, and resources to help participants become more independent and open opportunities to work.

DES programs can assist Caloundra participants in overcoming barriers to employment by providing a wide range of services. For example, job-readiness training, resume preparation, interview coaching, on-the-job support, and more. DES also plays an important role in building relationships with employers, making workplace modifications, and offering continuous support to help with job retention.

At TURSA, our DES is specifically designed to empower our participants, fostering confidence and independence. We work in collaboration with individuals, helping them achieve their employment goals both now and in the future.

Our Disability Employment Advocates prioritise getting to know participants personally. From understanding strengths, skills, and your employment objectives, we’re here to get to know you and your potential. What we discover will help us work with you to create individualised job plans and find opportunities for you to grow in.

Transparent and Respectful Communication

We believe in open, two-way communication. Finding a job for participants to succeed in the long term means finding an opportunity participants honestly enjoy and excel at. We work closely with each participant, including them in employment plans and ongoingly update it to meet participant goals.

Disability Employment Services is more than a job hunt. It’s a commitment to finding a participant’s potential and a path to long-term success. Our services are built upon this belief, helping build on participants existing strengths and abilities, adding to them to help fit a wide range of opportunities. Focusing on this, we help participants write resumes, train for positions, and connect with local employers.

And to ensure long-term success, our support doesn’t end once participants are employed. We continue to provide on-the-job support for up to 52 weeks, ensuring participants are given every opportunity they can get to meet their goals.

The service to expect from TURSA

At TURSA all DES-ESS services are delivered to meet and exceed National Standards for Disability Services. What else can you expect?

You will be assigned a specialist Disability Employment Adviser to work with you personally
Fortnightly face to face appointments available as well as flexible options to meet your needs as required
Tailored job plans with goal setting and planning reviewed with you as your needs change
Courteous, qualified and experienced staff who will work with you to achieve your employment goals
The opportunity for you to provide regular feedback to TURSA
Our assessment processes will ensure that you are fully equipped to remain in the workplace without intervention before exiting our services
